Maersk says alternative Gulf land-bridge routes still have capacity for food, medicine deliveries

LONDON, March 26 (Reuters) - There is still capacity via alternative land-bridge routes set up to keep food and medicine flowing despite the war in the Gulf, the Middle East head of shipping giant Maersk told Reuters on Thursday.

Danish container shipping group A.P. Moller-Maersk MAERSKb.CO is coordinating with governments across the Gulf, which have introduced faster procedures to speed up deliveries using the company's expanded "land-bridge" network, Charles van der Steene, the Dubai-based regional managing director for the Middle East, said in an interview.
